Adam Frans van der Meulen and workshop
The deployment at Dinant
Oil on canvas : 195,5 X 346 cm
1675
Schloss Schleissheim
The Louvre, the painting is now exhibited at the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Orléans, holds
a similar view of this painting with a different figure staffage; that painting is attributed to
Adam Frans van der Meulen. Oil on canvas, 233 X 331 cm.
Based on the first mention of that painting, when it was still at the Castle of Marly, it is
thought that the dramatic landscape was actually painted by Cornelis Huysmans
(1648 – 1727).
